Jerry Younce

Jerry Younce has spent his life trying to be the best man he can be. Guided by his Christian faith and a genuine love for people, he has always believed in treating others the way he would want to be treated.

Much of Jerry's working life was spent in agriculture and manufacturing, serving as both a farmer and a factory general manager. He appreciated a good day's work, whether that meant time in the cab of a tractor or seeing a successful harvest come in. Those who worked alongside him describe him as calm, steady, and hardworking. Those qualities are rooted in the values he carried throughout his life.

Family has always been one of Jerry's greatest blessings. He is the proud father of three boys and has worked hard to be a supportive husband, father, and role model. His family remembers him as a good Christian man who always tried to lead by example and encourage those around him. Traveling together, attending church, and simply spending time with loved ones created many of the memories he treasures most.

Faith has been the foundation of Jerry's life since he accepted Christ at the age of 12. Over the years, he has served faithfully in his church as a deacon, teacher, missionary treasurer, financial leader, and trusted volunteer. He has worshiped at the same church since 1962 and finds joy in singing hymns, fellowshipping with others, and sharing God's love through service.

Jerry has always been someone people could count on. In a group, he is often the listener. He is the one offering support, compassion, and encouragement. Whether helping with church needs, mentoring others, or simply being present, he has spent a lifetime caring for people.

He also enjoys life's lighter moments. The family still laughs about the famous Fourth of July "potato gun" story, when a golf ball launched through one wall of a shed and nearly made it through the second. It's a reminder that beneath Jerry's calm and thoughtful nature is a man who enjoys laughter, family fun, and making memories.

Today, Jerry continues to find comfort in church, fellowship, gospel music, and time spent with the people he loves. More than anything, he hopes people remember him as someone who showed the love of Christ through the way he treated others.

A loving father and devoted Christian, Jerry has spent his life caring for people, serving faithfully, and pointing others toward the values that matter most.
