HAVE A QUESTION? We’re Here to Help.
We believe peace of mind starts with clarity. Here are answers to questions families ask us most.
What types of care do you offer?
We offer Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Veteran's Assistance programs across our senior living communities in Indiana and Ohio. Each community has its own care focus. Some specialize exclusively in Memory Care, while others offer Assisted Living or Independent Living alongside it. We encourage you to explore our communities page or reach out directly to find the best fit for your loved one.
Are there set visiting hours?
We welcome families any time that works for them. All of our communities have secure entry to ensure resident safety, but there are no restricted visiting hours. Your presence is always encouraged.
How are team members trained?
Every qualified team member, regardless of their role, is trained as a Dementia Practitioner. We believe this shared level of understanding helps our entire team communicate more effectively, respond with empathy, and create meaningful moments throughout the day.
What is the move-in process like?
Move-ins are thoughtfully scheduled and carefully prepared. Our team is present and engaged to support both the resident and their family through every step, from the first day through the weeks and months that follow. We stay closely connected after move-in to listen, adjust, and ensure a smooth transition. Because at 1019, a move-in is not a task. It is the beginning of a relationship.
Do you offer volunteer opportunities?
We love welcoming individuals and groups who want to share their time and passions with our residents. Whether it's music, art, pets, or simply being present, these moments create real connection and joy. Contact us to get involved.
What is the difference between assisted living and a nursing home?
Assisted living supports individuals who are largely independent but need help with daily tasks like meals, housekeeping, medication, and personal care. Residents live in their own private apartments and enjoy a full community life. Nursing homes provide a higher level of medical care for individuals with more complex, ongoing clinical needs.
At 1019, our assisted living communities are built around the belief that needing some support should never mean giving up your sense of home, your privacy, or your joy.
Not sure which level of care is the right fit? Our team is always happy to talk it through.
How is pricing structured?
We believe peace of mind starts with clarity. Every resident's situation is unique, and we take the time to understand what your loved one truly needs before we ever talk numbers. What we can tell you is this: once your loved one moves in, there are no annual increases. No surprises if level of care remains the same. Just consistency you can count on for as long as they call our community home. Reach out to the community that interests you most and we will walk you through everything.
What makes 1019 different from other senior living communities?
Our difference is personal. It begins with our founders, who were caring for seniors long before 1019 had a name. The values they lead with, loyalty, integrity, and respect, are the ones they grew up with and chose together, the same values that run a good family. That is the belief everything here is built on: residents are our North Star, and what matters most is not what someone remembers but the connections and moments we create together every single day. Those same values are why so many of our communities carry the name of Belle, our founder's grandmother, who kept finding joy and connection even as she navigated dementia. Her story deepened what was already there. And it lives in how we hire, how we train, and how we show up for every resident and every family who trusts us with someone they love.
Can I bring my pet to visit?
Pets are always welcome to visit. We know the joy and comfort they bring, and some of our most meaningful moments have come on four legs. Contact the specific community for their pet guidelines and we will help make the visit special.
What is the tour experience like?
We encourage tours seven days a week, because finding the right community should not feel rushed. When you visit, you are invited to share a meal with us or join a life enrichment activity, not just walk through a community. It is your opportunity to ask every question, meet the team, and experience what daily life really feels like at 1019.
What support is available for veterans who may not qualify for VA benefits?
We understand that many individuals who served, or stood beside someone who did, do not meet strict VA eligibility requirements. Our Honoring Those That Serve program is designed to bridge that gap by dedicating a limited number of spots per community to help offset the cost of care. Contact us to learn more about what is available.
When is memory care the right choice?
Memory care is designed for individuals living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other forms of cognitive decline. It may be the right step when safety has become a concern at home, when caregiving has become unsustainable for family members, or when your loved one needs a secure environment and a team trained specifically to support memory loss.
At 1019, every qualified team member in our memory care communities is a trained Dementia Practitioner. We are here to help you think through whether memory care is the right fit, without pressure and without rushing.
